It still surprises me that many people still don’t anything about podcasts. They are free, you can play them any time (download them) and they are great for learning, staying informed and for pure entertainment purposes. Most of them operate like a subscription which just means daily or weekly a new episode is delivered to your computer without you doing anything at all. I listen to them in the car during those long drives to work. I run listening the Books and Arts show. I listen to them when I just want to relax. I also listen to them when I am working on stuff that doesn’t require too much mental effort – editing for example.
I know that there are other podcast websites but the biggest library of them is at iTunes. Download iTunes (free) and then explore the enormous library. All of Radio National programs are on here in case you are a radio listener who misses there favorite show often.
Here are some of my favourites:
All in the Mind – ABC radio show on the mind and all things brains
Hidden Brain – About social psychology research delivered in a very relaxed manner
Stuff you should know – lots of stuff
The Tim Ferriss Show – interviews of some very interesting world experts on how they do what they do
WTF with Marc Maron – American comedian who interviews all sorts of people. Funny and engaging.
That should get you started.
