I have written a few times about Sir Ken Robinson. You can check these posts here, here and here. I notice now that I never posted his now famous TED speech. I can highly recommend it. Watch it here.
The reason I am bringing this up now is that four years on Ken has made another speech on education at TED and as usual it is excellent with some very good points. In particular he points out that every country in the world is undergoing some educational reform but that isn’t good enough. He is advocating educational revolution. Unfortunately for us in Australia the educational revolution that we are meant to be undergoing is nothing more than what he despises a review and update, not a revolution.
We appear to be stuck in a groove with education and training despite the fact that all around us massive changes are occurring to how the world operates. When will education and training catch up and hopefully begin to lead the way rather than drag stupidly and lazily behind? Any thoughts?
