Ok so you all know RPl – recognition of prior learning, RCC – recognition of current competency, and maybe you didn’t know RR, Rubbish and Ridiculous. I am currently in the process of completing a RPL kit. I have been here before. I have also written about this a number of times. But……….this doesn’t work, isn’t practical and makes no sense. I can’t prove that I am a good communicator to you as an RTO by sending through a good performance review and a couple of reports that I wrote. Why doesn’t ASQA address this? Drop the whole concept of RPL and RCC as it doesn’t make any sense and cannot work under the rules of assessment. In saying that I am sad because some people are competent but they can’t prove and hence need to do a whole unit or course to prove it. I have done it many times and I know I am going to do many more times. I look at RPL now and say to myself – just do the assessment – it will take less time and is very easy for a competent person to do. Ok – just clearing my mind. What do you think?
