I recently ran in a local fun run. It went well and I achieved the time I was looking for. This was all due to the fact that I had prepared for the event months in advance. The next day I was a little bit sore which was to be expected but no where near as stiff and sore as I would have been if I hadn’t prepared properly. Delivering an effective training program is just like that. You start preparation weeks if not months before (if you get the chance). The more detail and effective preparation you put in the better the delivery will be. After the delivery, just like a run you will feel a lot better due to your intensive preparation because you know it worked, people learnt and the feedback was positive. Running or at least some form of aerobic exercise is also a great idea for all trainers. It sharpens the mind and body, provides stamina and resilience.
