The video below is about mathematics teaching but the principles apply to all of us. I have learnt that the less I teach and the more I allow participants to learn themselves the more effective my training is. We all talk about this but most do not do it in practice. We typically do more, talk more and control more in an effort to feel effective. It doesn’t feel all that effective to say a little, set up a problem and step back, for quite a long time.
So less is more, in fact much less is even more. The trick? Great problems and of course great preparation.
