Lectures are obsolete, says University of Adelaide vice-chancellor Warren Bebbington.
“My view is they’re gone; they’re never coming back,” he said as he described his university’s experience in replacing lectures with online learning.
Interesting comment from Warren but he goes further than just saying something controversial he then goes on to phase out lectures across the University.
I thought that this would happen eventually but I am surprised that I am a little upset about this impeding change to university lectures. I still remember some great lectures at University, generally given by outstanding teachers. They were educational, entertaining and interactive. It will be shame for them to all disappear as I think the mass lecture still has its place. What do you think?
