Learning by doing is not a new concept in fact it was most likely the first teaching technique invented apart from demonstrating. Many of you (not all) know that I deliver a Diploma in Training and Assessment program. It has taken a while to develop the overall strategy and structure of the program and I still have a long way to go. I have often struggled to describe exactly what I am trying to achieve by my approach. I found a great video about another training program which I think explains a great deal about the approach I have taken with the Diploma program as well as my general philosophy on training and learning. I don’t (at present) have the same lofty aims as the video program outlines but I am confident that people are learning. Have a look at the video and reflect on your approach to teaching.
