I have been teaching participants how to write blogs over the last few weeks as a part of elearning and coincidently a Linkedin group that I belong to has had a number of posts on what training blogs are out there and what should I write. Two things come from this. One, why not try the training group? There are some excellent professionals in the group who are willing to share from what I have seen. Two, here are a few quick tips on what to write in your training blogs. Here is a quick little article which gives you some overall writing idea tips. My tips? Simple.
- Write about what you know.
- Write about what comes into your head as you train people (make notes).
- Write about what is topical in the training world (check the internet, twitter or Linkedin.
- Write about you, your trainer experiences.
- Write about what interests you.
- Ask your training participants what they would like to know.
- When participants ask questions in your training, answer them but then go away and write a blog answer.
- Search the net for articles on training (there are plenty) and give your spin on it.
- Check YouTube. Find good videos and add your text.
- Sit down and generate 52 topics now and each week write one blog on each topic and cross them off.
- Read plenty of other blogs in many different fields as they will generate ideas.
- Write
- Write
I hope that helps all those people who want to write a training blog. Don’t think about it, write. Write whatever comes into your head and edit later. WRITE!
