Just about every time I open a training or educational textbook I am struck by the great lengths that many authors go to in attempt to complicate the training and educational process. Of course you can get very technical if you want to. But lets leave that to the academics. In the day to day design and delivery of training often the rule book is flawed and regularly broken with impressive positive results for the learners. That is why I started the Training Tips 56 series. It was an attempt to simplify training for those who didn’t need to know the anatomy of the brain or the history of psychology. When I can I like to stick to these four simple guidelines:
1. Know your topic
2. Be sequential and organised
3. Be creative
4. Have fun
Here is a really good article that keeps it simple and describes the 8 basic tips to training design. Enjoy and let me know what you think.
