This week has been refreshingly less intense than most weeks. Coming off a week’s holiday this week was meant to be a bit slower with an opportunity to get a lot of admin activities completed. TAFE is in it’s last week of school holidays so from a training point of view it was easier. My list of activities then for the week were:
1. Monday – full day delivery of project management
2. Marking three online programs
3. Marking of other programs (catch up)
4. OTEN marking catchup from last week
5. Wrote a program on Flexible Work Arrangements for a client.
6. Discuss with a client a new project that must be completed by the end of the year. Very complex and will take up a fair amount of time.
7. Interview with a new client for a project that will really start next year.
8. Stuff – lots of it.
I am going to review this week using the Plus Delta Model. This just consists of two review statements. What went well? What could be improved?
What went well?
Basically it was a good week. Not too difficult so all went pretty well. I achieved what I wanted to achieve for the week.
What could have been improved?
A few things could be improved though. I did waste some time. That is often a good thing ie relaxing but I could have also finished off some other activities with the spare time I had to prepare for some busy weeks ahead.
I started two online learning programs last this week as well. One of them I have since scrapped as it was not what I thought it would be (on solar panels). The other program is on organisational analysis through Stanford Uni. I should be doing more with these type of programs but they do just end up being a rush. For instance I am watching the videos on 1.75 speed.
I should have also been working on some longer term projects. I need to complete two Diplomas in the next two months which is going to be difficult but they are important to my training qualifications and they are paid for by someone else. I need to work on this.
I thought I had spare time and it would be good to relax (it is) but there really is no spare time and now at the end of the week I realise that when I feel like I should slow down a little I really need to check to the to do lists and pickup the pace.
The end of the year is just around the corner and I really need to finish off a lot of things.
Check out your week and using Plus Delta. How did your week shape up?
