I found this great post a while ago which lists six free screencasting tools. What is screencasting? Basically it is where you take a series of shots of your computer screen, add some text, some voice and a range of other material and compile it so it plays like a movie. One of the simplest applications of this is adding voice etc to a PowerPoint show and providing it online for participants and colleagues to play and use. I have some free examples at my company website. The ones that you see on my website are compiled by either Qarbon or Articulate. I have also used Captivate. All of those are expensive if you are not using them regularly. Articulate is very expensive but it is also, in my opinion, the best. The applications in this article are free and work quite well with some limitations. Try them out and let me know how you go. Maybe you would like to send me a link to some of your screencast work. I would be happy to display them.
