I see that e-learning is the way to go, it makes sense. It will enable me to service so many more clients (athletes), at times that may be more convenient for them , whether it be while they at home in a regional town or overseas on an international training tour or competition.
I can see myself loading athletes up with e-learning modules to complete and sending them off to complete. Yet I think to myself how will this attempt at learning differ from the many times while on tour I have seen them pick up their books to study, then as soon as they hit a difficult question, stumble and decide to leave it all for another day, and another and another.
As a newby to all that is training and assessment, and an e-learning environment – what are some of the key tips to ensure a supportive e-learning environment?
1. Education – ensuring athletes know what to do, how to do it! Can this be done online as well??
2. Support – what happens when they hit a difficult question? How can they get help that is timely and useful and yet not costly? Could social media help here?
In my online search I note that a lot of work has been done within the school system to prepare teachers for the e-learning environment. By the look of this website I have a bit of reading to do before I put my e-learning plan into action!
