I thought I would explore over the next few posts the concept of creativity. It is something that has always interested me. In particular what makes one person creative or more creative than others. What is creativity? I will let you read the article in Wikipedia which gives the full explanation but let us just say for now that it is creating something new and unique. One of the reasons that creativity interests me is that the trainers and for that matter presenters that I have really enjoyed are creative people. They may have a creative way of presenting information or a creative session design or creative activities that engage you. What ever it is they stand out as unique and different. Is every trainer capable of doing this? Can they, with some practice and some instruction become more creative? Are they not creative because they are just lazy or unmotivated? In the next few posts I will provide some articles, videos and tools which explore, explain or attempt to develop creativity. I hope that you enjoy them. Please let me know what your thoughts and theories are? Be creative. To start the process off I have embedded a video of John Cleese explaining his theory of creativity. He should know something about the topic as he is a very creative person.
