Cloud computing as a term has not been around for a very long time (possibly since late 90’s) but it is the future of the Internet. Check out this article regarding the importance of cloud computing. The key for educators is what does this shift mean? Personally I can only see good things coming from it. It will increase sharing and communication and allow for greater collaboration on educational projects, program design and resource building. Some of you may already be using cloud computing, some without realising it. I have been using Google sites and other data bases to share, store and collaborate with students and other educators for years. If you haven’t tried some of these sites out, now is the time. This is an excellent selection of storage sites to begin your experiment with cloud computing. I am keen, when I get 10  minutes, to look at Windows Live SkyDrive as 25 gb of storage is a great external backup system. I like Google sites (you just need to set up a Google account) for setting up student resources so check them out as well. What cloud computing resources do you us and recommend? Let us know.
