Often we see a change occurring in slow motion and don’t realise until it is very late that the change has actually already occurred and we missed it. In the recent past the music industry and the book industry watched casually as changes occurred and they both thought that it would either go away, would stall or would not affect them. They were both wrong and without noticing it the internet and technology stole their industries as they watched. Some of them still think the change is slowly happening. It isn’t. It has changed and it will not be going back. Is the change to online learning occurring or happened? I remember when a few years ago Amazon released that the sale of online books were higher than paper books. People were amazed but still didn’t get it. The change, the tipping point had occurred. Read the article here that states that Melbourne Universities online students now out number that of the face to face students. Many of those face to face students would also be attending lectures remotely etc and using technology tools. What does this mean? The change has happened.
