Watch this short video from TED. The speaker is Temple Grandin who I knew nothing about but it appears they have made a movie about her. She is different and proud of it. She has autism but due to this disability it has allowed her to achieve remarkable success in a number of fields. It is a good reminder that there are many different learners out there and just because a person may appear to be a little different, seem a little odd or doesn’t see the world the way you do doesn’t mean that they are any less productive as a person in society. In fact as Temple would advocate if these different people were not there many great things and inventions would never have happened. I am going to comment on another aspect of this in tomorrows post but in the mean time please watch the video and think about her message.
