Part two in our mini series on creativity examines the possible decline of creativity. I say possible because I am going to provide you a link to an article discussing this claim and let you decide. In the process of reading this article you will also learn a great deal more about creativity. So what do you think, is creativity in decline? Personally I think it is very difficult to remove the variables from the argument and this is a debate where we don’t even have a very reliable measurement of what creativity is. There has been some interesting information coming out lately regarding how things like Google are changing the way we think and use our brain. On the one hand you could say that as we have access to so much information now, at our finger tips, we possibly don’t have to think enough or be creative. We just ask for information and we get it. On the other side of this argument though you could say that the access to all of this information has increased creativity by expanding the possibilities for our mind to contemplate. For me there does appear to be an incredible amount of creativity happening on the internet and in software, gaming, virtual worlds etc. Maybe it is a different form of creativity but still the same concept, something new and useful. Please read the article and let me know your position. Just for fun here is a very creative person who does his creative thing on the internet.
